Organising your wardrobe might be a bit of a pain, but it is such a good thing to do to help you get organised, to save you time each morning and generally to help you feel refreshed. It also might help you to discover items that you had forgotten you had! So, this is your sign to set aside an hour or two to get organised and we know that you will feel so much better for it!
Take Everything Out
The best way to organise your wardrobe is to start by taking everything out! Pull everything out of your wardrobe and drawers and put it onto your bed or floor, which is the best possible way that you can make sure you get organised. It will take so much longer and it will be much more difficult to get everything organised properly when you leave everything in, so just take everything out and it will be a much quicker process!
Sort Everything Into Piles
Once you’ve taken everything out of your wardrobe, it’s time to sort it into piles. So, go through all of your clothes and accessories and then decide what you want to keep and what you want to donate. Try and be brutal here, as if there is someone out there who could love the piece more than you do, it’s time to get rid of it! The things to consider when deciding what you are going to keep should be if they make you feel confident, if they fit really well and how often you wear them. If you ever think that you’re unsure about keeping something, it’s probably a sign you should donate it! Take your donated pieces to charity shops, or you could sell them online to have more money to invest in sustainable pieces moving forward.
Decide How You Want To Organise Your Clothes
The next thing you need to do is to decide how you want to organise your clothes and accessories. There are so many ways to do this and different things work for different people, but the best way to start is to go in with a plan. This might be to order by category, like having all your jumpers together, t-shirts together, jeans together and so on. Or, you could do it by occasion, like workwear, gym wear, going out clothes, etc. This really depends on your routine and what works for you, but decide in advance and it will make the organising much easier!
Don’t Neglect Accessories
Something that many people forget about are their accessories, yet when you organise them properly they can be a real visual asset in any space! So, if you have a good collection of designer trainers, jewellery or handbags, take some time to think about how you can make them look amazing! Things like additional shelving, shoe racks to keep your Jordans clean and jewellery stands can be really simple yet effective additions to your storage.
